Job summary

Millison Chase Limited Recruitment is recruiting experienced HGV C+E Class 1 Container Drivers for ongoing container transport work across the UK. We seek reliable, professional drivers to move containers between ports, distribution centres, rail terminals, storage depots, and customer delivery sites nationwide.

Drivers will handle loaded and empty containers, complete paperwork and port checks, and adhere to site procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV C+E (Class 1) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC Card.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience.
• Good communication and timekeeping skills.
• Port cards such as DP World or similar accreditation (not essential).
• Experience operating sliding skeletal trailers.

Responsibilities

• Transporting loaded and empty shipping containers nationwide.
• Completing collections and deliveries between ports, rail terminals, depots, RDCs and customer sites.
• Carrying out container lock and seal checks before departure.
• Ensuring all transport and port paperwork is completed accurately.
• Following booking times and port collection procedures.
• Carrying out daily vehicle and trailer safety checks.
• Reporting defects and operational issues promptly.
• Following drivers hours and tachograph regulations.
• Operating vehicles safely and professionally at all times.
• Maintaining excellent communication with transport planners, ports, and customers.

Job description

Millison Chase Limited Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced HGV C+E Class 1 Container Drivers for ongoing container transport work across the UK.

We are looking for reliable and professional drivers to carry out container movements between ports, distribution centres, rail freight terminals, storage depots, and customer delivery locations nationwide.

This role involves transporting loaded and empty shipping containers safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of professionalism, compliance, and customer service.

Drivers will be responsible for collecting and delivering containers from major UK ports and logistics hubs, ensuring all paperwork, seal checks, and vehicle inspections are completed accurately.

Work may include waiting times at ports and terminals, strict booking slots, and adherence to site-specific procedures.

Both day and night shifts are available, with ongoing full-time work for successful candidates. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class 1 Drivers looking for consistent work within the container and port logistics sector.

Pay & Progression

• Days: £19.00 per hour
• Nights: £20.00 per hour
• Weekends: Up to £22.00 per hour
• Weekly PAYE pay through Millison Chase Limited
• Ongoing regular work available

Requirements

• Good communication and timekeeping skills
• Port cards such as DP World, Port of Felixstowe, or similar port access accreditation (NOT ESSENTIAL)
• Experience operating sliding skeletal trailers
