Job summary

Driver Hire Chelmsford & Harlow are recruiting a Dustcart Driver/Loader to join our client on an ongoing, long-term basis in the Brentwood area. The role involves refuse and recycling collection on residential and commercial routes, with a small team of loaders and daily vehicle checks.

Typical hours are Monday to Thursday 07:30–15:30 and Friday 07:30–15:00, totaling 37 hours per week. PAYE rates start at £16 per hour, with an advanced rate of £17.93 per hour, paid weekly.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Previous dustcart/refuse experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and safe manoeuvring skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a small team of loaders on daily collection routes.
• Ensure waste and recycling are collected efficiently from residential and commercial properties.
• Complete routes in a timely and organised manner.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and follow health and safety procedures.
• Assist as a Loader when needed: move and prepare bins for collection.
• Load waste onto the vehicle and handle heavy lifting in all weather.

We are currently recruiting for a Dustcart Driver/Loader to join our client on an ongoing, long-term basis in the Brentwood area.

The Role

As a Refuse & Recycling Driver, you will:

• be apart a small team of loaders on daily collection routes
• Ensure waste and recycling are collected efficiently from residential and commercial properties
• Complete routes in a timely and organised manner
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and follow all health & safety procedures

You will also assist as a Loader when needed, which includes:

• Moving and preparing bins for collection
• Loading waste onto the vehicle
• Handling heavy lifting, including sacks and bins
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
• CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Previous dustcart/refuse experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and safe manoeuvring skills
• Ability to work efficiently and be a team player

Working Hours

• Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 15:30

• 37 hours per week guaranteed
• 7.5 hours (Mon-Thu)
• 7 hours (Fri)
