Job summary

Kingston Barnes Ltd is seeking a HGV Class 2 driver for a temp-to-perm role. The position starts immediately and offers 42 hours per week with pay. Basic pay is £17.22 per hour plus holiday pay (£19.30 per hour on some schemes) and the job carries a potential salary of £37K per annum with up to £3K in bonuses.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and road safety regulations.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle to complete scheduled delivery and collection routes.
• Deliver to customers, including hotels, hospitals and other commercial sites.
• Collect used linen and return it to the depot as required.
• Load and unload cages.
• Complete vehicle checks before and after each shift.
• Ensure all delivery paperwork and relevant documentation are completed accurately.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and customer service.
• Follow all road safety regulations, company procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with the transport team and customers regarding deliveries or delays.
