Job summary

Gotpeople in Hemel Hempstead is seeking an HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver to join our client's team. You will perform multi-drop deliveries, ensure safe loading, and maintain professional customer service. A valid HGV Class 2 licence with CPC and 18+ months driving experience is required.

Shifts typically run between 14:00 and 18:00 with a minimum of 8 hours per shift. The role includes daily vehicle checks, wearing PPE, and a 7‑day rota.

Position Overview

As an HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, while delivering outstanding customer service. The role involves multi-drop deliveries and manual handling, including unloading.

Key Responsibilities

• Completion of assessments and training provided
• Deliver goods safely and efficiently to customers
• Unload cages into stores, involving physical work
• Perform multi-drop deliveries across London and the South East
• Follow allocated set routes and participate in a rota system
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and promptly report any defects
• Ensure all deliveries comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a high standard of customer service when engaging with clients
• Adhere to all relevant driver hours and road safety regulations

Candidate Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence with a minimum of 18 months' driving experience
• Possession of a full CPC and a digital tachograph card
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (excluding DR, DD or IN endorsements)
• Comfortable with manual handling and lifting bulky items
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, with the ability to work safely and adhere to delivery schedules
• Willingness to wear appropriate PPE (high-visibility clothing and safety boots)

Pay & Benefits

• £21.12 per hour PAYE
• Minimum of 8 hours guaranteed pay per shift
• 7-day operation with rota system
• Start times between 14:00 and 18:00
