Job summary

Manpower in Carryduff is recruiting HGV Class 2 drivers to join a busy waste and recycling operation. This is a secure, long-term role within a growing essential industry.

You will carry out scheduled and ad-hoc collections, perform pre-use vehicle checks, load and tip waste safely, complete route sheets and digital records, and maintain high standards of road safety and customer service. Shifts are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm, 45 hours per week.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 license required.
• Waste/recycling industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles on daily routes.
• Conduct pre-use and post-use vehicle checks.
• Load, transport and tip waste materials safely.
• Complete route sheets and digital records accurately.
• Report vehicle defects and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Carry out collections from commercial and industrial sites.
• Support manual and mechanical loading/unloading activities.
• Use tail lifts and handling aids as needed.
• Sort and segregate waste in line with regulations.
• Adhere to driver hours, tachograph and safety requirements.
• Provide professional and customer-focused service at all times.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Operating HGV Class 2 vehicles to complete daily collection routes
• Carrying out pre-use and post-use vehicle checks
• Ensuring safe loading, transportation and tipping of waste materials
• Completing route sheets, delivery notes and digital records accurately
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintaining vehicle cleanliness
• Carrying out collections from commercial and industrial sites
• Supporting manual and mechanical loading/unloading activities
• Using equipment such as tail lifts, pallet trucks and handling aids
• Sorting and segregating waste in line with regulations
• Adhering to driver hours, tachograph and health & safety requirements
