Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely on night-time routes between hubs.
• Follow routing/scheduling to ensure timely delivery and collection.
• Manage loading, securing and occasional unloading of freight.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Handle paperwork and scan consignments; maintain dispatch communication.
• Comply with road safety and company policies.

• Starting at £18.15PH (increasing to £19.15ph after 12 weeks)
• Overtime paid after 8 hours at £25.25 (increasing to £27.25 after 12 weeks)
• Saturday £23.52ph (increasing to £24.52 after 12 weeks) Overtime paid after 8 hours at £25.25
• Sunday (flat rate) £26.25ph (increasing to £27.25 after 12 weeks)
• Bank holiday (flat rate) £34.42ph (increasing to £35.42ph after 12 weeks)

Key responsibilities:

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently on scheduled night-time routes
• Follow detailed routing and scheduling to ensure timely parcel delivery and collection between hubs
• Manage loading, securing, and occasional unloading of freight including pallets, cages, and containers
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and complete defect reports as required
• Handle shipment paperwork, scan consignments accurately, and maintain communication with dispatch teams
• Adhere to all relevant road safety and company policies to ensure compliance and safety

What we’re looking for:

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar heavy goods driving role
• Ability to work night shifts consistently and reliably
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for managing freight and documentation
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
