Job summary

The Best Connection Reading are recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for a temporary to permanent role based in Reading. You will perform multi-drop deliveries of beer kegs to hospitality venues, working with a driver’s mate and following safety procedures.

Early starts, no weekends, with weekend shifts available as OT; quarterly bonus of £500 for target achievement. Role involves manual handling of beer kegs and requires teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Multi-drop deliveries of beer kegs to the hospitality sector.
• Work alongside a drivers mate to assist with handball.
• Safely secure goods for transport and manage loads with tail lifts and pump trucks.
• Meet delivery times and follow route plans.
• Follow all site, depot and customer H&S procedures.

Salary: GBP19.08 - GBP28.62 per hour + Quarterly bonus available!

The Best Connection Reading are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for a temporary to permanent role with one of the UK's largest and most well-established distribution operations, based in Reading.

Key information:

• Monday to Friday (NO WEEKENDS).
• Weekend shifts available if you wish to work (OT Paid)
• Early starts between 4.30am and 5.30am.
• Pay rate - £19.08 per hour. OT rate – £28.62 per hour.
• A quarterly bonus of £500 for achievement of targets!

*Please note this role does involve manual handling of kegs of alcohol.

Key responsibilities:

• Multi-drop deliveries of beer kegs to the hospitality sector.
• Working alongside an experienced drivers mate who is there to assist with the handball.
• Safely secure goods for transport.
• Manoeuvre goods using tail lifts and pump trucks.
• Follow manual handling best practice.
• Meet scheduled delivery times and route plans.
• Follow all site, depot and customer H&S procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ability to work within a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
