B2C2 in London is seeking a highly specialised IT - HFT System & Network Engineer to join our trading infrastructure team. You will bridge the gap between our cutting-edge AWS environments and physical colocation facilities, optimizing the global trading stack for ultra-low latency and high-speed cross-region connectivity.

You will deploy HFT-grade stacks, automate deployments with Terraform and Ansible, and tune Linux systems to minimise jitter, delivering performance that underpins our edge in

Qualifications

• Low-Latency DNA: Proven experience in HFT or ultra-low latency environments where microseconds matter.
• Linux Mastery: Deep knowledge of system internals and performance profiling.
• Advanced Networking: Expert understanding of BGP, Multicast, and AWS networking.
• Automation-First Mindset: Proficiency in Python/Bash and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to manage complex global deployments.
• Hardware Savvy: Comfort working with high-performance NICs, low-latency switches (Arista/Cisco).
• Execution-Driven: A clear, concise communicator who thrives in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Low-latency Infrastructure Build: Architect and deploy HFT-grade stacks with low-latency connectivity to crypto exchanges and internal networking alike.
• Hybrid Cloud Optimisation: Manage the interplay between AWS servers and physical hardware in traditional colocation centers.
• System Performance Tuning: Implement deep-level Linux kernel optimisations to minimise jitter and improve performance.
• Network Automation: Develop "Zero-Touch" deployment pipelines using Terraform and Ansible to ensure reproducible infrastructure.
• Precision Monitoring: Instrument the network for microsecond-level visibility, tracking packet loss, jitter, and retransmissions.
• Connectivity Management: Coordinate with exchanges and providers to manage cross-connects, LOAs, and high-speed transit lines.
