Job summary

TechShack is seeking a system engineer for their trading desk in London. In this role, you will manage the execution layer and migrate systems from C++ to Rust, working closely with quants to optimize trading performance.

The ideal candidate has over 3 years of experience in performance-critical systems, with strong skills in Rust or C++. You will have the opportunity to develop market data handlers and ensure low-latency internals for our trading systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in backend systems with market-data or exchange connectivity.
• Strong knowledge of Rust or C++. C++ engineers with interest in Rust are encouraged.
• Experience in low-latency and performance-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution layer and market data ingestion.
• Migrate C++ execution layer to Rust.
• Build low-latency internals for trading systems.
