Job summary

Bath and North East Somerset Council, in Bath, is seeking a Day Operations Assistant for heritage sites such as the Victoria Art Gallery and the Pump Room and Roman Baths. You will support opening routines, maintain safety, and help set up and strike for evening events.

Shifts run 07:00–16:00 four days, then 13:00–22:00 four days with two days off, with training provided for manual handling and other key tasks. Applicants should present well and be confident in busy public environments.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be well presented and confident when working in a busy public environment.
• The ability to carry out work involving manual handling is essential and training in this and other key tasks is provided.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning, washroom replenishment, security and patrolling duties.
• Porterage duties and setting up/striking for functions in the evening.
• Preparing sites before they open to the public and keeping them running smoothly during the day.
