Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council invites applications for a Front of House role at the Roman Baths. You will welcome visitors, manage entry, sell tickets and guidebooks, and issue audio guides in a busy historic setting.

Full training and a uniform are provided. Starting date is 2 November 2026. Experience with tills is essential; foreign language ability is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Experience of operating tills is essential.
  • Ability to speak a foreign language would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in a visitor attraction or museum would be helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and engaging with visitors.
  • Managing visitor entry and ticket sales.
  • Selling tickets and guidebooks.
  • Issuing and collecting audio guides.
  • Patrolling the site and providing security invigilation.
  • Giving guided tours.

We are seeking Team Members to join our award-winning Front of House team. The Roman Baths welcomes around 1 million visitors per year, and we are passionate about providing engaging experiences that bring family and friends together to create memories that will last a lifetime.

About the Role

This is an ideal opportunity to join our team with varying shift options, working in a busy, enjoyable, unique historical environment.

Duties include welcoming and engaging with our visitors, managing visitor entry, selling tickets and guidebooks, issuing and collecting audio guides, patrolling the site, security invigilation and giving guided tours.

Starting date Monday 2nd November 2026

About You

Applicants must have a good general education, with a high standard of personal presentation, a very friendly manner and excellent customer care and communication skills. Experience of operating tills is essential and the ability to speak a foreign language would be an advantage. Experience of working in a visitor attraction or museum would be helpful as would an interest in history.

  • Full training and a uniform will be provided.
