Job summary

The Client Group is seeking a Museum Collections Manager to join Portsmouth-area projects on a 36-month contract. You will safeguard objects, oversee environmental controls, and help modernise how the history is presented.

The role includes delivering tours and talks, digitising the collection, and developing a policies framework. Working within a newly formed Heritage Team, you will collaborate across teams to create engaging public experiences, exhibitions and seasonal programs while ensuring

Qualifications

• Qualified in curation or conservation.
• Experience with SPECTRUM cataloguing standards.
• Experience with environmental monitoring and pest management.
• Experience handling a range of materials (metal, leather, wood).
• Ability to deliver tours and talks to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Museum maintenance, including environmental monitoring and pest management.
• Document and digitise the museum collection; cataloguing to SPECTRUM standard on the CMS.
• Support exhibitions, pop-ups and themed seasons.
• Provide tours and talks to internal and external customers.
• Develop the museum's collections policy and engage with Events team.
