Job summary

Bakers of Danbury Ltd are recruiting a skilled Carpenter for the Special Works Department to work on refurbishment, restoration and repair of heritage buildings across Essex and surrounding counties.

The role is full-time and site-based with a 42.5-hour week. You will undertake timber framed repairs, extensions, doors and windows, and 1st/2nd fix carpentry, using traditional methods and materials. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Formal carpentry qualifications required.
• Experience on historical/listed buildings preferred.
• Confident with Oak and traditional materials.
• Valid driving licence.
• Willingness to travel to projects across Essex and surrounding counties.
• Positive attitude, good communicator, team player.
• Basic health and safety knowledge/certification.

Responsibilities

• Structural repairs to timber framed buildings.
• Hand cut timber frame extensions and roofs.
• Installation of stud walls and 1st fix carpentry.
• Installation of doors and windows.
• 2nd fix carpentry works.
• Other detailed carpentry duties.
