Job summary

Headland Archaeology invites applications for an Archaeology and Built Heritage Consultant based in Manchester. The role focuses on delivering heritage services for major developments, including preparing technical documents and liaising with clients and regulators.

The position offers full-time permanent employment with a 6-month probation and funding for professional membership. Flexible working options are discussed, with locations across Headland and RSK offices.

Qualifications

• Degree in archaeology or related subject.
• Experience in archaeology consultancy or commercial field work.
• Experience in preparing reports and built heritage statements.

Responsibilities

• Baseline data collection from archives and site walks.
• Prepare heritage risk appraisals, DBAs, WSI, and EIA chapters.
• Contribute to fee proposals and liaise with clients and contractors.
• Oversee sub-contractors and manage project finances.
• Develop commercial awareness and manage time across projects.
