Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting for an IMI Level 2 qualified mechanic at SwindonWorkshop on a permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime. Working hours are Full time with a 1 in 3 Saturday rota.

You will perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles, using your own toolkit in a modern workshop. You’ll have access to specialist tooling, a structured training plan, and a pension/benefits package.

Qualifications

• IMI Level 2 qualification in Light or Heavy vehicles or equivalent.
• Experience with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs.
• Own toolkit and flexibility to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Use your own toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs plus access to specialist tooling.
• Work in a modern, fully equipped workshop environment.

We’re recruiting an IMI Level 2 qualified mechanic at SwindonWorkshop on a Permanentcontract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time

- 14:24, week 2: 12:30

- 21:00. You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off).

A bit about the role

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 2 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
