Job summary

NEOS Engineering is seeking a Plant Inspector in the Birmingham area to inspect construction plant and equipment, produce comprehensive reports, and advise on remedial actions. The role offers a strong mix of fieldwork and autonomous ownership across customer sites.

Ideal candidates will have experience with construction or heavy plant, solid mechanical knowledge, and the ability to communicate findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Experience working on construction plant, heavy plant, or related equipment.
• Good mechanical knowledge with the ability to identify faults and defects.
• LOLER/LEEA qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections on a wide range of construction plant and equipment.
• Produce clear and accurate inspection reports.
• Identify defects and recommend remedial actions where required.
• Liaise professionally with customers and provide technical advice.

NEOS Engineering are partnered with a well-established and growing business within the construction plant sector who are looking to appoint a Plant Inspector to cover the Birmingham area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer or inspector who enjoys working independently, visiting customer sites, and ensuring plant equipment is safe, compliant, and operating to the highest standards. Previous inspection experience is ideal, although engineers looking to move away from the tools into an inspection-focused role are encouraged to apply.

The Role

• Carry out inspections on a wide range of construction plant and equipment.
