Job summary

ITS Construction Professionals South LTD is seeking an experienced Heavy Plant/HGV Mechanic to join a Sevenoaks-based team. You will maintain and service a varied fleet including HGVs, heavy plant and vans, preparing for MOTs and attending breakdowns.

The role is depot-based with occasional travel across Kent; ideal candidates have around 5 years' relevant mechanical experience, experience with HGVs/heavy plant, and a flexible approach to breakdown call-outs.

Qualifications

• 5 years' relevant mechanical experience.
• Experience with HGVs, heavy plant or light vehicles.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
• Flexible approach to occasional breakdown call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Preparing vehicles and plant for MOTs.
• Servicing and maintaining HGVs and heavy plant.
• Attending breakdowns and carrying out repairs.
• Predominantly depot-based work, with occasional travel to breakdowns across Kent.
• Working on heavy machinery including crushers, dozers and 360 excavators.
• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.

The Role & About the Client

ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Plant/HGV Mechanic to join a well-established company based in Sevenoaks. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a varied fleet, including HGVs, heavy plant and vans.

The company operates a fleet of approximately 20 HGVs, 30 items of heavy plant and a fleet of vans, providing a varied working environment. Candidates from light vehicle, heavy vehicle or plant backgrounds will be considered.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Preparing vehicles and plant for MOTs
• Servicing and maintaining HGVs and heavy plant
• Attending breakdowns and carrying out repairs
• Predominantly depot-based work, with occasional travel to breakdowns across Kent
• Working on a variety of heavy machinery including crushers, dozers and 360 excavators
• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Ensuring vehicles and machinery are maintained to a safe and operational standard

Requirements:

• Ideally around 5 years' relevant mechanical experience
• Experience working with HGVs, heavy plant or light vehicles
• Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs
• Full UK driving licence desirable
• Flexible approach to occasional breakdown call-outs
