Job summary

Aureol Global Connections is seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to inspect, service, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy plant and construction equipment. You will ensure machinery is safe, reliable, and operating efficiently while carrying out preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis.

The successful candidate will work with diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and transmissions, performing on-site and workshop repairs as required.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade.
• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or similar role with heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy plant machinery.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and interpret technical information.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain, and repair plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Repair or replace defective components including engines, transmissions, and pumps.
• Carry out inspections to identify wear, damage or safety concerns.
• Conduct emergency breakdown repairs in workshop or on-site as required.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals, and parts catalogues.
• Test machinery after repairs to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with training apprentices and junior technicians as needed.
