Job summary

United Plant Services in Lincolnshire is seeking a Mobile Heavy Mechanical Engineer to service, repair and inspect a wide range of heavy plant equipment, ensuring our customers' operations stay safe, productive and compliant.

You will diagnose faults across hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems, perform planned maintenance, complete reports electronically, maintain the company vehicle, and build lasting customer relationships through high‑quality service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant equipment and machinery.
• Experience with leading manufacturers such as Liebherr, CAT, Komatsu, or Volvo.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Heavy Plant Equipment.

• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and thorough equipment inspections.
• Delivering exceptional customer service and responding effectively to customer queries.

• Maintaining your company vehicle to a high standard, ensuring it is fully stocked and operational.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through consistent, high-quality service delivery.

The Role

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant equipment and machinery.
• Experience working with leading manufacturers such as Liebherr, CAT, Komatsu, or Volvo.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• The ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
• A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills.
• A flexible, positive, and committed attitude.
