Job summary

United Plant Services is seeking a Mobile Heavy Mechanical Engineer to maintain, repair and inspect a wide range of heavy plant equipment, ensuring customers' operations stay safe and productive.

You will service, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, while delivering exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships on-site in Ipswich.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant equipment.
• Experience with Liebherr, CAT, Komatsu, or Volvo.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Customer-focused attitude.
• Flexible and committed.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Heavy Plant Equipment.

• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and thorough equipment inspections.
• Delivering exceptional customer service and responding effectively to customer queries.
• Working in line with all health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
• Accurately completing job reports electronically and ordering required parts.
• Maintaining your company vehicle to a high standard, ensuring it is fully stocked and operational.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through consistent, high-quality service delivery.

The Role

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant equipment and machinery.
• Experience working with leading manufacturers such as Liebherr, CAT, Komatsu, or Volvo.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• The ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
• A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills.
• A flexible, positive, and committed attitude.
