Job summary

Wolviston Management Services are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a busy Scunthorpe site in the UK. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of a wide range of mechanical plant and machinery in a safety-critical environment.

This hands-on role suits a time-served fitter with heavy industry experience who takes pride in high workmanship standards and safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Time-served with an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing or process environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across heavy industrial plant
• Strip, inspect, overhaul and reassemble mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors and rotating machinery
• Perform mechanical installations, alignments and repairs to site standards
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions
• Work from engineering drawings, manuals and specifications
• Support shutdowns, breakdowns and improvement projects as required
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental procedures
• Accurately complete maintenance documentation and reports
• Work collaboratively with electrical, operations and engineering teams
