Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder for our Walsall site. You will read engineering drawings, cut, tack, weld, and drill to within tolerances, ensuring traceability and strict safety adherence.

The role covers workshop operations, goods in, and potential on-site installation support. A CSCS card, NVQ level 2/3, and overhead crane experience are essential for this post.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medium to heavy fabrications and welding procedures (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Certified and experienced in operating an Overhead Crane.
• Qualified to use Plasma/Oxy-fuel cutting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures accurately.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and work directly from controlled engineering drawings, cutting, tacking, welding, and drilling materials within specified tolerances.
• Document all materials used for full traceability and complete workshop checklists.
• Operate overhead cranes safely for workshop manufacturing activities.
• Safely destroy superseded drawings when revisions are issued.
• Assist with Goods In processes by unloading deliveries and verifying material certificates.
• Provide on-site installation support when required.
