Job summary

Caterpillar in Stockton (TS18 3SD) is seeking a Time-Served Welder for a temporary-ongoing role (24-month fixed-term). You will build and weld heavy-duty fixtures to tight tolerances, using MIG and MMA processes, and collaborate with production teams across shifts.

Pay rates range from £18.98–£24.10 per hour, with overtime up to £37.96, plus a joining bonus up to £150. The role offers every-other-Friday off, on-site health services, and chances to progress into permanent CAT positions.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or time-served apprenticeship in fabrication and welding.
• Experience welding with MIG and MMA processes in an industrial setting.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to weld to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Build and weld heavy-duty fixtures and assemblies to tight tolerances.
• Weld using MIG and MMA processes to high engineering standards.
• Follow standard work procedures with strict emphasis on safety.
• Collaborate with production teams and take ownership of tasks.
• Perform standard manual handling and lifting per safety guidelines.
• Conduct detailed quality checks to ensure fault-free output.
