Job summary

NHS Jobs in Gateshead is seeking a Band 3 Cardiac Diagnostic Technician to support the Cardiac Diagnostics Department. You will perform 12-lead ECGs, fit ambulatory BP/ECG monitors, and assist clinics, while upholding patient dignity and confidentiality.

It offers in-house training with opportunities to develop knowledge of basic cardiac rhythms and work towards the SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography.

Qualifications

• Vocational qualification in health and social care.
• Venepuncture and ECG skills.
• Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
• Experience working with the public is essential; healthcare/patient-facing experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and urgent 12-lead ECGs.
• Fit and remove ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors.
• Obtain accurate diagnostic results across diverse patients while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
• Support senior cardiac physiology staff and echocardiography clinics.
• Maintain diagnostic equipment and support the smooth running of the department.
