Job summary

Gateshead Health in the North East of England seeks a Band 3 Cardiac Diagnostic Technician to support the Cardiac Diagnostics Department. The post involves performing routine and urgent 12-lead ECGs, fitting ambulatory monitors, and supporting clinics across the Trust.

You will work with a diverse patient group, using excellent communication to explain investigations, maintain dignity and confidentiality, and support senior staff in echocardiography clinics. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with the public is essential.
• Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
• Willingness to develop knowledge of basic cardiac rhythms.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality cardiac diagnostic service, performing routine and urgent ECGs.
• Fit and remove ambulatory ECG, blood pressure monitors and event recorders for inpatients and outpatients.
• Obtain accurate diagnostic results across a diverse range of patients, maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
• Support senior cardiac physiology staff in the delivery of diagnostic services.
• The role includes assisting with echocardiography clinics and maintaining diagnostic equipment.
