ABL Health ltd. is seeking a senior leader to drive the Gloucestershire Healthy Lifestyle service, influencing clinical and operational excellence. The post holder will lead a team of Advisors and build partnerships across primary, secondary, and community care to deliver outcomes for referred clients.
The role requires extensive public health or behaviour-change experience, strong leadership, governance involvement and a focus on continuous improvement and staff development.
ABL Health deliver the Healthy Lifestyle service in Gloucestershire, commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council . This transformative service works collaboratively with communities to transform the lives of the local population. The service supports residents to help them lose weight, stop smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, get more active and improve their wellbeing - all embedded in sustainable behaviour change. The service will also deliver the Healthy Beginnings programme supporting families with healthy lifestyles through pregnancy to child's second birthday, as well as the Healthy Workplace award scheme
This is a leadership role where the post holder will have a real influence on the clinical and operational excellence of the service. The post holder will take a pro-active lead in building relationships, partnerships and alliances in the community, secondary care, and primary care settings, and supporting specialist advisors to deliver outcomes that benefit clients referred to the service. They will be responsible for the line management of staff working across Gloucestershire.
The post holder must have extensive knowledge and hand's-on experience in public health or behaviour-change settings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide strong practice leadership, driving quality improvement and supporting the planning, development and delivery of the Gloucestershire service. You will lead and manage a team of Advisors, overseeing performance, supervision, professional development and the delivery of evidence-based interventions. The role will involve conducting observations and care record audits, monitoring KPIs and outcomes, producing performance reports, and working closely with data and professional leads to embed the integrated service strategy. You will build effective relationships with primary, secondary and community care stakeholders, support referral pathways and promotional campaigns, contribute to governance and multidisciplinary meetings, and deliver training where required. You will also ensure high standards of record keeping, compliance with policies and procedures, and the safe and effective delivery of Healthy Lifestyle Services, while contributing to continuous improvement and the wider social value of the service.
