Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking a Casual Healthy Communities Coach to deliver inclusive sports sessions for all ages and abilities across the district. You will plan, prepare and run high-quality coaching activities, supervise multi-sport sessions and ensure safety and inclusivity at every step.

You will also mentor fellow coaches, maintain accurate attendance records and contribute to the Healthy Communities Action Plan, with training and development opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Level 1 or 2 certificate in coaching a sport or equivalent.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Safeguarding and Child protection.
• Experience coaching sports in schools, holiday camps, community clubs or on sports development initiatives.
• Experience coaching/ working with children and young people.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high quality coaching sessions across the district.
• Supervise and coach multi-sports and other sports to children and young people.
• Ensure sessions are planned and developed for all, including young children and those with needs.
• Mentor other coaches, where appropriate, and provide advice in planning and delivery of activities.
• Ensure all sessions are safe and follow health and safety policies.
• Maintain detailed attendance records.
• Keep knowledge of governing body programmes, policies and guidance up to date.
• Support CPD relevant to the post and assist Healthy Communities Manager in delivering Freedom's Active Communities plan.
