Job summary

Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is seeking an experienced Information Governance Lead to drive compliance with Data Protection legislation and lead information governance activities across the organisation. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, strategic oversight and the ability to translate policy into practical governance.

Based in the Dorset/Somerset NHS setting, you will collaborate with clinical and corporate teams to strengthen information governance practices and assurance

Qualifications

• Experienced Information Governance Professional Manager with post graduate study in Data Protection and lead IG role in a large organisation.
• Extensive knowledge of NHS Information Governance policy through study, NHSE events and networking.
• Strong written and verbal communication for key messages to stakeholders and Board level reports.
• Member of Health Informatics Body.
• BCS Freedom of Information qualification.

Experience

• An experienced Information Governance Professional Manager with extensive knowledge of the specialism of Data Protection legislation gained from post graduate study, continuing professional development and from working in a large organisation in a lead Information Governance role or EPR implementation.
• Extensive understanding of NHS policy on Information Governance obtained through study, attending NHSE events and networking.
• Developed written and verbal communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external (including outside the NHS) and to write reports up to Board level.
• Membership of professional Health Informatics Body.
• British Computing Society (BCS) Freedom of Information qualification.

Experience

• Professional Information Governance knowledge acquired through Masters level qualification or equivalent experience.
