Job summary

EMED Group, based in Stoke-on-Trent, is seeking a Controller/Planner to coordinate a high-volume, time-critical transport operation for patient journeys. You will plan bookings, allocate crews and vehicles to meet KPI targets, and collaborate with hospital staff to optimise resource use and service quality.

The role requires strong organisation, analytical thinking, and excellent communication under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated, time-critical operational environment.
• Desirable experience in logistics, control, route planning or analytical roles.
• Desirable experience with time-critical KPIs and using systems to monitor performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily and future bookings, allocate resources and inform sub-contractors, taxis and volunteers.
• Dispatch and manage operational crews to ensure timely collection and delivery of patients.
• Receive transport requests and queries, ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Perform clerical duties including data entry, booking lists and invoicing as necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and ensure clean main operating system.
