Job summary

Spinnaker Ward at St Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth is recruiting Healthcare Support Workers to join the inpatient team. You will support patients and registered nurses to deliver safe, compassionate care, assist with daily living, and promote independence within a 24-hour rotating shift pattern.

Full training and supervision are provided. A positive attitude and excellent communication skills are essential to working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, caring and motivated with good communication abilities.
• Experience in healthcare is desirable but not essential; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering individual patient rehabilitation programmes under guidance of nursing/therapy staff.
• Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to support patients' daily living and rehabilitation.
• Monitor patients' progress and report any changes in condition to the care team.
• Contribute to high-quality, person-centered care and maintain a safe ward environment.
