Job summary

Central London Community Health NHS Trust is offering an apprenticeship for aspiring Healthcare Support Workers. You will learn on the job and work toward a Level 3 qualification while supporting patients at home and in local community settings.

You will be guided by nurses and health professionals, developing skills to provide safe, kind, and respectful care and helping people stay independent with increasing responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification (GCSE Grade 4 or C or above, or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Aged 18 years or over on start date of employment.
• Able to work 37.5 hours per week, this will include training days.
• Not currently undertaking any other apprenticeship or further education or university level programmes.
• Meet apprenticeship residency requirements.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years before the start of learning.
• If you are on a visa this needs to cover at least 2 years from the start of employment with no need for renewals during this period.

Responsibilities

• This role is an apprenticeship where you will learn on the job and work towards becoming a qualified Healthcare Support Worker.
• You will complete a Level 3 qualification while gaining real experience supporting patients in their homes and local community settings.
• You will work with guidance from nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, kind, and respectful care.
• The focus is on helping people stay independent and improve their wellbeing.
• As you develop your skills and confidence, you will take on more responsibilities within the team.
