Job summary

phs Group plc in Colchester is hiring a Healthcare Service Driver to operate a pre‑planned daily route, collecting healthcare waste and delivering hygiene products. The role is full‑time, permanent, with a 6am–6pm window and 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and no scheduled weekends.

You will return to the depot daily, be paid £12.81 per hour (£26,639 base with bonus to £27,839 OTE), and receive a company vehicle for business use along with extensive benefits and ILM training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence held 12+ months.
• Maximum 6 points on licence; no DR/DD/CD/TT/IN/AC endorsements in last 5 years.
• Able to work within a 6am–6pm window across 40 hours per week.
• Reliable, safety‑conscious and professional.
• Good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Healthcare Service Driver

The Healthcare Service Driver role at phs will involve:

You’ll follow a pre-planned daily route visiting healthcare and commercial customers to:

• Collect and safely handle healthcare waste (including sharps and pharmaceutical waste)
• Service and replace hygiene products within customer premises
• Complete compliance documentation (digital and paper-based)
• Deliver professional and courteous customer service
• Return to the depot daily to unload collected waste

Routes and schedules are centrally planned to ensure efficiency, safety and compliance.

This is a physically active role suited to someone who prefers being on the move.

The ideal candidate for a Healthcare Service Driver at phs will have:

• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (held 12+ months)
