Job summary

Mitie Care And Custody Limited in Larne is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to provide high‑quality clinical care within a residential short‑term holding facility. You will assess health needs, manage cases and maintain accurate electronic records, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuous care.

Applicants should hold UK registration as RN/RGN, RMN or Paramedic with at least two years' post‑qualification experience in patient‑facing roles and be eligible to work

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Healthcare Professional to join our team at the Residential Short-Term Holding Facility in Larne. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and wellbeing of residents, ensuring all healthcare needs are identified, assessed and managed appropriately. You will deliver high-quality clinical care within a unique residential custodial environment while maintaining accurate records using electronic clinical systems.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

• Salary £36,000 per year, £18,000 Part time
• £1000 bonus when completed 12 months service (£500 for PT)
• Full time - this entails fixed shift working in a team rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 days off: 06:45 to 19:00 for 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
• Part time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 2-day shifts on, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off. Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
• Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum
• NMC/HCPC Registration paid

Person specification

• A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in a patient-facing clinical role.
• Experience within one or more of the following settings: Accident & Emergency (A&E), General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, Ambulance Services
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a wide range of clinical presentations.
• Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills.

Professional requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN/RGN) with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience at Band 5 level or above.
• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with dual registration and a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience.
• Registered Paramedic with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience.

Eligibility requirements

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have held British citizenship, a British passport, or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) status for a minimum of 3 years.
• Have no absences from the UK exceeding 3 months during this period.
• Be eligible to undergo and successfully obtain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) Clearance.
