Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing tradesperson for a fixed-term role based in Bristol within the Estates Maintenance Department. You will respond to breakdowns, carry out repairs, and perform routine maintenance to meet KPI targets.

The role involves on-call duties, small installations, and working from drawings and specs with supervision, plus mentoring apprentices in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

City & Guilds Mechanical/Plumbing Level 3 or equivalent.
Experience as a domestic or commercial plumber.
Willing to work in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to day-to-day breakdowns of plumbing and mechanical equipment.
Carry out a wide range of mechanical and plumbing repairs.
Undertake routine maintenance (PPM) and log work on the Agility PDA system to meet KPIs.
Carry out minor installation work.
Work from instructions, drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.
Become certified as a competent person in your discipline.
Pass on knowledge to apprentices and work experience students.
Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.
