Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts is seeking a dedicated cleaner to work across wards and departments, ensuring timely cleaning requests are fulfilled and infection control practices are observed. You will collaborate with Ward Team and Facilities staff, maintain cleaning standards, manage stock, and use specialist equipment safely.

Training in COSHH, manual handling, Health and Safety, and infection control is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with hospital cleaning and infection control guidelines.
• Safe handling of cleaning agents and proper dilution ratios.
• Willing to attend on-the-job training and annual required courses.
• Follows COSHH, Manual Handling, Health and Safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate response to cleaning requests across wards and departments.
• Maintain cleaning standards and infection control practices in the department.
• Handle and dispose of waste to designated collection points; replenish supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and report faults to supervisor.
• Assist in bed preparation and preparation of isolation rooms as required.
