Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is recruiting a Chef for a well-regarded nursing home in Weymouth, Dorset. The role requires an NVQ Level 2-3 in Food preparation and catering and offers a permanent full-time position with mix shifts.

The successful candidate will plan menus with residents, oversee cooking and serving, ensure dietary requirements are met, manage stock and supervise kitchen staff. A competitive hourly rate is offered along with benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2-3 in Food preparing and catering (required).
• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
• Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of diverse techniques.
• Knowledge of nutrition and ability to develop compliant menus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Undertake menu planning in consultation with residents and Manager.
• Oversee and participate in preparation, cooking and serving of all food per menus.
• Ensure menus are displayed with choices.
• Cater for special diets or cultural needs and maintain variety of options.
• Check stock quantities and place orders per catering manual.
• Supervise kitchen staff.
• Ensure HACCP processes and manual are followed and recorded.
• Manage food expenditure with Home Manager/Bursar.
