Job summary

SkyCare Ltd in Woodchurch near Birkenhead is seeking care assistants to join a caring team providing nursing dementia care in a purpose-built 82-bed home. Roles are full-time (33–44 hours/week) with day and night shifts. A friendly atmosphere, training, and development opportunities are offered, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Applicants must have experience in nursing home care, dementia exposure, and DBS clearance with two references. Sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in nursing home care is mandatory.
• Experience with dementia, brain injury and nursing.
• Clear DBS and 2 satisfactory references.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide high levels of care and assist Residents with daily living.
• Support Residents in physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of care.
• Supervise and attend to Residents to maintain comfort and dignity.
• Observe care planning needs and complete daily records as instructed.
• Engage Residents in social activities and hobbies within the Care Centre.
• Answer Nurse Call system and provide assistance as required.
• Answer door and telephone calls appropriately.
• Report on Residents' well-being and pass messages promptly.
• Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents and relatives.

Job description

• Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Residents when required with all aspects of daily living
• Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual
• Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignity
• Observe care planning needs for Residents and completed daily records as instructed
• Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre
• Answer Nurse Call system, giving assistance as required
• Answer the door and telephone appropriately
• Respond accordingly, and pass on messages promptly
• Report on well-being of Residents
• Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents and Relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc
  Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Team player
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Previous experience of working with the relevant Service in a Nursing home is mandatory
• Experience with dementia, brain injury and nursing
