Job summary

Circle Health Group's Runnymede Hospital in Chertsey is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the Wards team on a 22.5 hour-per-week, fixed pattern. This part-time role offers a flexible shift pattern and a competitive salary up to £26,262 FTE per year, depending on experience and training.

You will assist patients with personal care, support with meals and mobility, take routine observations under supervision, and maintain confidentiality and GDPR standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate when required.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care and mobility needs.
• Help patients with eating and drinking, and document intake where appropriate.
• Carry out routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, SpO2 and capillary glucose levels (training provided).
• Report concerns about a patient’s condition or wellbeing promptly to the Registered Nurse or clinician.
• Record care and observations clearly on documentation systems or electronic health records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in line with GDPR and data protection policies.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including hand hygiene and PPE use.

We have an opportunity for an Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in theWards department.

This is a part time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Report any concerns about a patient's condition or wellbeing promptly to the Registered Nurse or relevant clinician.
• Record care provided and patient observations clearly and accurately on appropriate documentation systems or electronic health records.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and data protection policies.
• Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and environmental cleaning standards.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
