Job summary

Circle Health Group in Glasgow is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant for the Pre Assessment department. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern and Monday–Saturday availability.

You will assist patients with hygiene, nutrition and mobility, perform routine observations after training, and support clinicians in delivering safe, compassionate care. Benefits include extensive staff programmes and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care and mobility needs.
• Help patients with eating, drinking and nutritional support, including documenting intake.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Carry out and record routine observations (blood pressure, pulse, resp rate, temp, SpO2, blood glucose) after training.
• Support basic clinical procedures including wound care setup and catheter care.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment for patient use.
• Work with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe patient care.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Pre Assessment department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Candidates must be available to work Monday - Saturday.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
