Job summary

Circle Health Group in Glasgow is seeking a Healthcare Assistant at Ross Hall Hospital on a permanent, part-time basis. The role covers 36 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern.

You will support patients with daily living, hygiene, nutrition and vital observations, working closely with nurses, doctors and admin staff to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and compassionate attitude.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, mobility and dignity.
• Help with eating, drinking and nutritional intake.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Record routine observations (BP, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, SpO2, glucose) after training.
• Support basic clinical procedures including wound care setup and catheter care.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment for patient use.
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff.

This is a part- time role for 36 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
