Salary: £12.21 per hour

The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare, performing more complex surgeries than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our Outpatients department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, providing staffing support during busy periods and covering staff absences.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility, respecting their dignity.
  • Support patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional documentation.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and relatives, ensuring a caring environment.
  • Record routine observations like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose (training provided).
  • Support clinical procedures such as wound care, catheter care, and mobility aids.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe patient care.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community).
  • Good communication and compassionate attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • Physical ability to perform moving and handling duties.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality.
