Mersey West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Health Care Assistant to support Intermediate Care at the Duffy Suite, St Helens Hospital. The role requires commitment to patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team, across a 30-hour, part-time pattern including long day/night shifts.

An Enhanced DBS is required; flexible working options are discussed at interview. If successful, you will join a trust recognised for patient care and regional clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Deliver patient-centred care and rehabilitation.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide nursing support.
• Demonstrate compassion and professionalism in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Nursing Team undertaking household support tasks and direct care tasks as delegated by the Nurse in Charge.
• Support the qualified Nursing Staff in maintaining high standards of nursing care.
• Assist in creating a ward environment conducive to patient recovery and comfort.
• Accept delegated functions appropriate for untrained staff.
• Ensure nursing documentation is accurate and countersigned by a registered nurse.
• Adhere to Trust Policies and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Support privacy, dignity and confidentiality of patients.
