Overview

A Vacancy at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We have various hours for Band 3 Health Care Assistants within our Ophthalmic Team which includes Ophthalmic Outpatients / A&E and Pre‑op Assessment Service.

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, flexible and reliable individuals who can use initiative.

What you’ll do

As a Health Care Assistant you will assist with patient flow by providing ophthalmic assessments, maintaining patient safety and carrying out investigative and diagnostic procedures.

  • Visual Acuity assessment
  • Intra‑ocular Pressure measurement
  • Instillation of a variety of eyedrops, understanding their pharmaceutical value
  • Visual Field Assessment

Competency based training will be given. You will be able to contribute towards maintaining an effective patient flow by carrying out the above assessments in an efficient, safe manner for a high volume of patients. You will contribute to and understand the specialist care required for our ophthalmic patients.

Qualifications

Applicants must have experience of working in a hospital setting as Band 2 in care and be ready to deal with a fast paced patient flow.
