Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to support local primary care services in Mossend. The role focuses on routine clinical tasks, patient-facing care and flexible sessions across weekdays, evenings or weekends.

You will support different primary care teams with observations, treatment room duties and essential health checks. The position offers varied shifts with opportunities for short-notice cover and ongoing scheduling, matching clinicians to local GP practices and community

Qualifications

• Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills are desirable.
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• DBS enhanced check is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature.
• Assist in treatment room duties under clinical supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and basic patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support clinicians with general duties as needed.
