Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to work across East Molesey’s primary care services. You will provide flexible clinical support, performing routine observations, assisting in treatment room duties, and contributing to clinic flow.

Sessions vary to suit availability and skills, with guidance and structured workflows in place. You will support different primary care teams, conduct observations, ECgs, and basic health checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in observing patients and recording vital signs.
• Strong communication with patients and teams.
• Phlebotomy skills are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Assist in treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Carry out ECGs and basic health checks.
• Support with phlebotomy if trained.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting treatment room procedures under clinical supervision
• Conducting ECGs and basic health checks
• Assisting with phlebotomy if trained
• Providing lifestyle advice and basic patient education
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed

Requirements

• Previous HCA experience in primary care, community or NHS settings
• Phlebotomy skills desirable
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Adaptability across different primary care environments
• Enhanced DBS
