INTERNAL VACANCY

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join the ENT Outpatients Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

We are seeking a friendly Healthcare Assistant with excellent communication skills who enjoys working in a busy team. The post holder will provide essential clinical and administrative support to the clinical team within our Outpatients Department, helping to deliver a high level of patient care. You will manage a group of patients throughout their consultations, relevant diagnostics, and provide information as needed.

The post holder must be able to effectively manage their own workload when caring for a group of patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Ability to work across sites as needed.

Main duties of the job

  1. Take responsibility for the smooth running of identified clinical activities.
  2. Ensure equipment is available for use, including decontamination of scopes.
  3. Support patients during their outpatient appointments.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of the department and uphold IPC standards.
  5. Escort patients to and from other wards and departments under the direct instruction of registered nurses.
