Bank Healthcare Assistant – Outpatients

As a Healthcare Assistant in Outpatients at our hospital, you’ll bring relevant experience, a keen eye for detail, and a flexible approach. You should demonstrate patience, focus, and excellent communication skills. A real team player, you have diligence, IT literacy, and a passion for development and training to make a difference.

As a Healthcare Assistant in Outpatients, you will:

  • Support the Outpatient Manager and team in the smooth day-to-day operation of the department, including assisting with administration, stock management, and maintaining infection prevention standards.
  • Enjoy caring for patients as individuals.
  • Assist consultants and nurses with procedures.
  • Provide chaperone duties, conduct clinical testing and assessments.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties.
  • Conduct ECGs.
  • Receive training in adult and pediatric basic life support.

The desirable candidate for the role will have:

  • Qualification in NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care - Essential.
  • Experience working in a hospital setting - Essential.
  • Phlebotomy skills - Desirable.
  • ECG skills - Desirable.
  • BLS / PBLS - Desirable.

Bank Contract

This post is for a bank position with no regular contracted hours. Working hours will be offered on an ad-hoc basis, supporting the department during periods of holidays, study leave, and sickness to meet operational needs and ensure safe staffing levels.

Initially, there will be an induction period involving attending regular shifts to complete training and clinical competencies.
