Job Overview

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join the ENT Outpatients Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

We are looking to recruit friendly Healthcare Assistants who have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a busy team. The post holder will provide essential clinical and administrative support to the clinical team within our Outpatients Department, helping to provide a high level of care to patients. You will manage a group of patients through their consultations, relevant diagnostics, and provide information as needed.

The post holders must be able to effectively manage their own workload when caring for a group of patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. Ability to work cross-site as needed.

Main duties of the job

• Take responsibility for the smooth running of identified clinical activities.
• Ensure equipment is available for use, including decontamination of scopes.
• Support patients during their outpatient appointments.
• Maintain cleanliness of the department and uphold IPC standards.
• Escort patients to and from other wards and departments under the direct instruction of registered nurses.
