Optimum Care Group is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for Abbey View Nursing Home in Bangor. The role offers full-time days or nights with 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm or 8pm–8am) and an hourly rate of £12.81.

You will be part of a team delivering high-quality care, with duties spanning personal care, meals, laundry, and documentation. Training is provided, and excellent benefits apply.

Qualifications

• No experience necessary.
• Kitchen or laundry experience in work or a voluntary setting (desirable).
• Care related qualification (studying for or attained) (desirable).
• Be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) (desirable).
• Experience within a paid Nursing Home or similar environment including personal care (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support with meals and hydration; assist with mobility.
• Complete paperwork accurately and communicate with line manager.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain confidentiality and safety for residents and staff.
• Work as part of a team to provide a quality service.

Overview

We are looking for several Full Time Healthcare Assistants (3 shifts per week) to join our Abbey View Nursing Home team, either Days or Nights. Shifts are 12 hours long from 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am between Monday to Sunday.

Duties

• Personal Care - Assist with all daily living activities, for example, washing, dressing, toileting/incontinence and assisting with mealtimes. Follow guidelines for safe movement of clients, using appropriate equipment where necessary.
• Kitchen - All relevant kitchen related duties including basis meal preparation.
• Laundry - Washing, drying and ironing duties.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Complete all paperwork accurately.
• Communicate regularly with the line manager.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as laid down by the company.
• Obtain NISCC registration before employment and maintain during employment.
• Adhere to the NISCC Codes of Practice.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines.
• Ensure the confidentiality of residents, colleagues and the company at all times.
• Work as part of a team.
• Provide a quality service at all times.
