Job summary

About The Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is seeking a passionate Healthcare Assistant to join our award-winning team at Marula Lodge.

Marula Lodge provides high-quality services to 42 residents across 4 specialised units, supporting residents with complex care needs and offering a safe, comfortable living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are proud to be rated GOOD by CQC.

What do you need?

  • 6 months experience in a similar setting (preferred)
  • A kind, caring, and compassionate nature
  • A genuine desire to support others and make a difference
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Reliability and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and complete training (including Care Certificate)
  • Ability to follow instructions and care plans
  • Emotional resilience and calmness in challenging situations
  • A compassionate and professional mindset to support adults with complex needs

What hours will you work?

We offer a 7 out of 14 day rotating pattern, providing more time for you:

  • Week B - 4 days: Monday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday, 07:45 - 19:45
  • Week A - 3 days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, 07:45 - 19:45

Total average hours: 38.5 per week.

  • Supporting daily living activities: personal care, mealtimes, social activities
  • Monitoring resident progress and reporting changes
  • Helping residents maintain independence
  • Respecting residents' choices, privacy, and dignity
  • Communicating effectively with team members

About Us

Cornerstone Healthcare provides specialist care for individuals with neurodegenerative and mental health conditions, often with challenging behaviours. Our residents typically have conditions like Dementia combined with mental health issues, making them unsuitable for standard dementia or elderly residential care homes.

We operate services in Waterlooville, Curdridge, & Mytchett, with new locations opening in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
